What You'll Do

The developer will participate in architecture and design of various container networking scenarios, and ensure a timely execution of the components with high quality. The position will involve internal and external collaborations with Cisco networking and cloud infrastructure teams. This is a high visibility position in an area of expanding investment for Cisco and offers a terrific opportunity for technical and career growth.

 

Who You'll Work With

Cisco container team is working on key strategic pieces to define the future of cloud computing. We are responsible for designing, building and operating container networking solutions that build on Cisco’s proven strengths in enterprise networking technologies. We are the force behind Contiv (contiv.io) – an open source approach to container networking that provides a flexible networking fabric with a rich policy model. At the core of Contiv is a solid SDN platform that coupled with the container platforms will deliver amazing agility, reliability and cost effectiveness for our customers. We are working to enhance the platform with future technologies such as VPP (fd.io).

 

Who You Are

We seek candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Switching and routing protocols (BGP/VLAN/VXLAN/TCP/UDP)
  • SDN – OpenFlow, OVS
  • Container technology - Kubernetes and Docker
  • Distributed systems


A Successful Candidate Will Bring

  • Systems programming experience
  • Solid Design and Dev skills
  • Experience with performance optimizations and/or debugging skills in distributed environments
  • Experience shipping products or services


Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional software development experience preferably in a networking and/or distributed systems environment
  • BS or MS or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
