What You'll Do  Software Build Engineer

Who You'll Work With  As a member of our CSG Release Ops team, you will be responsible for builds/syncs and branch management for Cisco's Identity Services Engine (ISE).  You will also be responsible for fixes, enhancements, and completely new services to improve our processes.  This job truly aims at changing the way every engineer at Cisco lives, plays, works and learns by modernizing the Software Development Experience at Cisco.  Who You Are  The individual should be very comfortable with CI/CD processes. The individual is expected to participate in all aspects of builds, integration, branching, merging, designing and implementing the tools used for operations, automation etc. Responsibilities  • Create and maintain fully automated CI build processes for Cisco products • Work closely with the development, operations, and test teams • Write scripts for build, deployment, maintenance and related tools and tasks • Strong shell and perl scripting skills. Python experience is a plus • Strong background and understanding of Unix & Linux • Knowledge of Continuous Integration, Agile and Waterfall methodologies     Minimum Qualifications  • B.S or M.S in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 3 or more years of experience • Hands-on experience in using source version control, code collaboration and bug tracking systems such as Perforce, ClearCase, GIT, Gerrit, Bitbucket, Swarm, Review Board, JIRA, etc. • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment tools such as Jenkins or equivalent • Expertise in scripting languages: Perl, Python • Extensive experience in source code merging between various branches and branching strategies according to multiple related-development projects • Excellent communication skills in written and verbal English • Must be able to handle multiple tasks at once and work independently with minimal managerial oversight • Ability to handle pressure and work across multiple time zones and providing remote support for teams • Passionate about work, strong can-do positive attitude     Desired Skills  • Knowledge of build acceleration concepts and a wide variety of DevOps tools • Experience with Code Quality and Static Analysis tools such as Coverity and SonarQube • Knowledge implementing Continuous Integration and Delivery Model, particularly in J2EE environment • Exposure to large scale software builds and integration; Cloud Computing Services like AWS, Virtualization and Containerization platforms • Proven record of working with cross functional teams facilitating efficient software build and delivery • Strong interpersonal skills and proven record of performance and ability to work independently as well as in a team
