Growth – Data Analyst

 What You'll Do

Cisco’s newly-formed Growth Team is on a mission to find new users and delight customers for our flagship team collaboration product, Spark. We are laser-focused on driving Spark user and revenue growth – from initial awareness and onboarding, to engagement, retention, and monetization. We conduct experiments and use insights from data to drive our decisions.

On the Growth Team, you will work alongside a group of designers, user researchers, data scientists, product managers, and engineers to design & execute experiments that will be seen or experienced by millions of people in a fast, collaborative process.


As a Growth Analyst, you will be a subject-matter expert on our product analytics and digital marketing data – measuring the impact of projects and identifying trends to help us understand and discover actionable opportunities.


Besides owning retention analysis, monitoring and managing our funnel analytics, you will develop and validate hypotheses to uncover insights and recommend opportunities to explore. You will also help automate recurring analyses and reporting to democratize our data and maximize the team’s efficiency.


Your attention to detail and strategic mindset will directly impact large areas of the product, as your work will heavily influence the prioritization of our efforts to improve elements of the user experience throughout the customer journey.

We constantly partner with product, marketing, and support teams to run A/B tests, share knowledge, and use data to inform and influence roadmaps and business decisions.

Our tools empower us to move fast and dive deep – building and deploying tests to anticipate and rapidly respond to our customer’s needs. We measure in days, not weeks, and monitor our experiments’ results in real-time. We operate on evidence, evolving as we learn from our experiments.


Who You Are


-        Data Retrieval, Exploration, Cleaning, Joining, and Manipulation

o    ETL development, including querying and combining data from variety of sources

o    Automation and scripting to maximize productivity

o    Work with structured and unstructured data – e.g. relational databases, log files, JSON records, etc.

-        Model Building and Evaluation

o    Explore and proactively mine data sets

o    Leverage analytics software and common toolkits to build models and test hypotheses

-        Presentation and Communication

o    Summarize and present key insights to stakeholders

o    Propose customer growth experiments based on data analysis and insights

o    Generate visualizations and dashboards

o    Communicate complicated concepts, such as tests of statistical significance, to convey the intuition to non-technical audiences

 

Minimum Qualifications

-        BS Degree in CS, or similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience

-        5+ years of experience as a growth or web analyst

-        Experience creating self-service dashboards to drive awareness of KPIs and trends

-        Experience evaluating and communicating the results of A/B tests

-        Experience analyzing customer behavior and conversion rates to identify points of friction in our user acquisition funnel

-        Proficiency with tests of statistical significance, confidence intervals, and time-series modeling

Preferred Qualifications: 

-        Experience with SQL and a relational database or data warehouse, such as Postgres, MySQL, SQLite, Redshift, BigQuery, Hive, Snowflake, Vertica, etc.

-        Experience working with log/ text data, using tools such as ELK stack, Splunk, Sumo Logic, etc.

-        Experience working with behavioral analytics using a tool such as Amplitude, Mixpanel, etc.

-        Experience using Jupyter notebooks, or R Shiny, Tableau workbooks, Alation, etc.

-        Subject-matter expert in applied statistics (e.g. Bayesian methods, experimental design, regression, causal inference, and model evaluation)

-        Experience with Apache Spark or a MapReduce system
