Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) is an identity-based access control policy platform that enables enterprises to enforce compliance, enhance infrastructure security and streamline their service operations in any environment—wired, wireless or VPN.

Its unique architecture allows enterprises to gather real time contextual information from network, users, and devices to make proactive governance decisions by tying identity back

into various network elements including access switches, wireless controllers, VPN gateways, and datacenter switches.

Cisco ISE is a core component of the Cisco TrustSec solution and Cisco's SecureX architecture for Borderless Networks.


Who You'll Work With

The identity Services team is a group of high energy, customer focused engineers who bring diverse perspectives and experiences to bear on the toughest engineering challenges.


The candidate will play a key role for the ISE product development. This position requires extensive collaboration with multiple services team and works cross functionally on Agile Scrum Teams with PM, UE.


Who You Are:

Responsible for defining the Technical Vision and delivery focus. Essential to understand all aspects of each system from both a business and technical point of view.

Develop, Enhance ISE platform features built on Cisco UCS hardware and Linux software.

Debug, troubleshoot and resolve ISE platform related customer issues

Ability to coach and mentor people on technical topics and communicate effectively

Perform design trade-off analysis, write software specifications, code, integrate and test new software and hardware, complete product release, and provide field support.

Develop, enhance, verify and sustain embedded system software for complex inter networking products as a key member of a cross-functional team

Interface with Business Development, External Partners, Hardware Engineering, QA Test and Release Operations throughout the development cycle.




Required skills:

12+  years of overall software experience

Must have contributed to technology/tools evaluation and technical proof of concept applications

Experience as full stack developer involving Java/Python/Node.js/Golang

Deep knowledge of Linux internals

Strong knowledge of software component architecture and design

Strong SQL & data modelling experience, Exposure to RDBMS (Oracle/MySQL/PostgreSQL)

Deep knowledge of distributed systems and security aspects

Exposure to AAA, radius, 802.11, wireless technologies

Hands on experience in AWS, Azure and Dockers

Experience in Planning, Develop & implement test strategies and test plans to ensure software features meet product requirements

Contribute to the automation using test automation environment leveraging virtualization, Python, and Selenium, Jenkins tools etc

Ability to coach and mentor people on technical topics.

Must have collaborated in documenting & developing platform architecture with significant exposure to defining non-functional

requirement Analytical thinking skills, problems solving with strong exposure to root causing tools and techniques and ability

to come up with win-win solutions in complex business situations

Experience in developing complex applications or highly-scalable solutions end-to-end

Strong debugging/troubleshooting skills

Adopted OpenSource best practices

Experience with Agile/scrum development

Creative, independent, self-motivated and willing to learn new technology

Demonstrate passion and commitment towards customer and product quality


Good to have skills:

Experience in Design/Prototyping and implementing machine learning systems

Technical knowledge of distributed processing such as Hadoop, distributed solution such as Cassandra, analytic architectures, application server platforms

Knowledge on SOAP & Rest APIs.
